Join us for an unforgettable backcountry weekend in the mountains surrounding Valemount — a place where rugged peaks, alpine lakes, and wild solitude come together for the ultimate adventure. This trip is all about getting off the grid and into nature: two nights of true backcountry camping, incredible hiking, hands-on learning, and the kind of connections that only happen miles from anywhere. Friday evening we will meet in Valemount for a pre trip chat and to hand out group food/gear. Since we are supplying all of the food and group gear (camp kitchen, water filter) you will want to leave room in your pack to accommodate. We will be heading to the trailhead from Valemount Saturday morning around 9am so you will need to find accommodation in Valemount Friday night. There are hotels and campgrounds in the area and if you need suggestions please reach out. Hotels in the area can book up quickly so it is advised to book Friday evening accommodation early.
Saturday features our main hike: a challenging and rewarding route (approx. 13 km round trip, 600+ m elevation gain) that leads to sweeping views and photo-worthy summits.we’ll hike into our backcountry basecamp and set up in a stunning alpine area surrounded by the Cariboo, Columbia, and Rocky Mountains. Over the weekend, you’ll take part in guided hikes, a navigation workshop, and learn the essentials of backcountry living — from hanging food safely to digging catholes responsibly.
Our two evenings will be spent sharing meals, stories, and laughter under the stars. Sunday morning you get to wake up to a mountainside coffee and hot breakfast. After we are all thourogly caffeinated we will explore the surrounding mountain ranges with lighter packs and plenty of trail snacks. We’ll hike out Monday morning, refreshed and proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
