Join your favourite adventure crew for an unforgettable 4-night alpine traverse through the Canadian Rockies— a place where glaciers hang from jagged peaks, waterfalls thunder through cedar forests, and the stars feel close enough to touch. In partnership with Icefall Lodge, we’re combining their iconic backcountry hospitality with our Guided by Adventure ethos — authentic, wild, and connected. It’s the best of both worlds: their mountains, our mission, your adventure. This trip only requires guests to hike with a day pack (clothing for the 5 days, toiletries, lunch and a sleeping bag liner)

Please note you will need to find accommodation in Golden, BC, the night prior to trip start, (August 29th, 2027)

Day 1 – Arrival at Rostrum Cabin

Guests meet at the Ice Fall Lodge Staging area ( Approx. 45 Min north of Golden, BC) where we will take 20 min helicopter ride to Rostrum Cabin. After unpacking, set out on a half-day hike beneath the towering face of Rostrum Peak, where broken glaciers drape over the East Face.
Return for dinner and an evening of starlight and stillness — the kind of quiet you can feel in your bones.

Day 2 – Traverse to Icefall Lodge

After breakfast, begin your 8 km treeline traverse through alpine meadows and wildflowers on the way to Icefall Lodge.
Expect sweeping vistas, dramatic rock formations, and peaceful lunch spots along the route.

At the lodge, you’ll be welcomed with appetizers from the lodge chef and a well-earned cold drink on the deck. Some guests brave the glacial waterfall plunge, others unwind in the wood-fired sauna. A hearty dinner and warm bed await.

Day 3 – Extra Day at Icefall Lodge

A day to deepen your connection with the landscape — and yourself.

Join your guides for a day hike to a high-alpine ridge with sweeping glacier views and nearby glacial tarns, or take a slower morning, coffee in hand, watching the light move across the peaks from the lodge deck.

Whichever pace you choose, this day is about presence — moving, resting, and breathing in the stillness that only high mountain air can offer.

Return in the evening for another nourishing meal, sauna, and shared stories under the stars.

Day 4 – Icefall Lodge to Kirwan Hut

After breakfast, continue toward the Kirwan Hut, a beautifully crafted cabin built in 2023.
The 7.5 km trail descends through old-growth cedar forest to the valley floor, following the river’s edge with gentle undulations.

Drop your pack and take an optional 4 km round-trip hike to the countless waterfalls of Icefall Canyon — a stunning finale where mist, rock, and water meet in perfect motion.

Day 5 – Departure

Enjoy breakfast and coffee as the sun crests the peaks one last time.
A mid-morning helicopter returns you to the staging area — carrying memories, new friendships, and that grounded, mountain-fresh feeling that only time in the wild can give.

Important Trip Notes: Please Read Before Booking

This is a backcountry adventure, not a casual hike. After three trips to Icefall this past summer, here are a few things we want you to know so you can arrive prepared and ready to enjoy the experience.

Sleep & Cabin Life
The first and last cabins have small sleeping quarters with squeaky beds. Space is limited, and sleeping conditions are rustic. If you’re a particularly loud snorer, shared sleeping quarters may be challenging for you and your cabin mates! Regardless, come prepared for a less-than-perfect night’s sleep. An eye mask and earplugs are must-haves. The good news? The excitement of the hikes ahead usually makes any tiredness fade pretty quickly!

Terrain & Exposure
The terrain is rugged, and some sections require confidence and good mobility. Even on our shorter first-day hike, there is a section of rock where you’ll need to use your hands to climb up and over. There is exposure and inherent risk, so you must be comfortable with heights and navigating uneven, exposed terrain.

Day Two: A Big, Rewarding Day
Day two is a big hiking day, but the route is very manageable for those who arrive with the right preparation and abilities. We gain approximately 600 metres over 4 km as we climb toward the pass, where we’ll stop for lunch. Expect a substantial section of large boulders along the way. You must be comfortable moving across rocks, maintaining your balance, and trusting your foot placement.

After the pass, the final 4 km to the cabin are generally easier going, with a few narrower sections to navigate. We’ll also travel along the tops of moraines, which are narrow, elevated ridges with steep drop-offs on either side.

Day Three: Another big hike day with two moraines to walk along, some steep and very narrow switch backs to climb up and the most rewarding views. We will hike roughly 9km total and gain 550 metres of elevation this day. Sauna and appies await our return. But please note, you will be tired after two days of hiking so this is why it is so important to come prepared and injury free.

Fitness & Mobility Requirements
Overall, this trip is very achievable for prepared hikers, but it is important to arrive with:

  • Good hiking fitness and the ability to manage long, challenging days on your feet.
  • Very good mobility, balance, and stability to move up, down, and across uneven rocky terrain.
  • Confidence navigating boulders, narrow trails, and exposed sections.
  • Comfort with heights and an understanding that backcountry travel involves inherent risks.
  • Our goal is for everyone to have an incredible experience while feeling prepared for the terrain ahead. Please read these notes carefully and reach out before booking if you’re unsure whether this trip is the right fit for you. We’d much rather have that conversation ahead of time so you can arrive feeling confident, capable, and ready for an unforgettable adventure.

    Pricing & Deposit Information

Please note that our trip pricing reflects the rates charged by Icefall Lodge. Their prices have increased this year, which is why the overall cost of the trip is higher than in previous years. We simply pass along Icefall’s rates and do not add a markup to their accommodation costs.

A $800 deposit is required at the time of booking. This is the deposit required by Icefall Lodge to secure your spot, so we must collect it to confirm your reservation.

HOW TO BOOK – Please send us an email with any questions, after we confirm you would like to book, a deposit of $800 is required to hold your spot.
