Winter Shelter Building Workshop – February 6th

Are you interested in trying new things, learning new skills, feeling more confident with Winter adventuring? Whether you spend time in the backcountry & are looking to feel more prepared in case of emergency or maybe your just looking to spend a day having fun & meeting like minded people, this workshop is for you!
The day will include building a Quinzee (shelter made from compacted snow) fire building, winter safety tips & off trail snowshoe. The Adventure Bus is co hosting this workshop with a local bushcraft expert and it will be an awesome day of skill building while also having lots of fun playing in a snow cave…let your inner child roam free!
No experience necessary just the ability to actively participate in shelter building & snowshoeing! During the shelter building everyone will be actively assisting with creating the shelter, there will be breaks for lunch and for some demonstration portions of the workshop.
Location TBD, will be within 30-40 minutes drive of Prince George.
What to bring/wear-
- Gear for all elements (gloves, toque & Dress in synthetic layers (no cotton) – warmth, rain. heat, snow!
- Snow pants or insulated liner
- Backpack & water & thermos with hot drink
- Lunch & snacks
- Avy shovel (if you have one please bring)
- Pad or backpacking chair to sit on
For this workshop please bring spare gloves & toque, also a large warm jacket that you wouldn’t usually wear out snowshoeing (something to put on while we are standing around)

Refund Policy – Due to the nature of outdoor adventure and that we have many upfront costs, all day adventures are non refundable. However we can issue a credit for 50% of original amount that guest can use to a future adventure. We do everything in the best of our abilities to provide an amazing experience however due to weather & safety restrictions we may, at times, not be able to reach summit or desired view with group.
- Please be advised we are not responsible for any damage done to vehicle during your drive to trail head and it is mandatory that you have proper winter tires as per hwy guidelines.
