Intro to Stand Up Paddle Boarding – June 9th – South Okanagan
June 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$15.75 – $63.00
Beginner Stand Up Paddleboarding Workshop
This 2-hour beginner SUP workshop is designed to take you from “I’ve never stood on a board before” to feeling relaxed, balanced, and confident cruising on calm water.
If you’ve paddled a bit already, this session is also a fantastic way to fine-tune your technique, improve efficiency, and feel more comfortable on longer paddles.
Each workshop is led by certified Stand Up Paddleboarding instructors and starts on dry land, where we’ll cover the essentials:
-
A brief intro to SUP and equipment
-
Board and paddle terminology
-
Safety basics and lake awareness
-
Launching and landing
-
Getting on and off your board with confidence
-
Proper stance and efficient paddling strokes
Once we’ve covered the fundamentals, we’ll head onto the water for a gentle, guided lake cruise, giving you time to practice, play, and settle into your new skills in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Location
We’ll be launching at Vaseux Lake — a warm, shallow, 4 km-long lake in the South Okanagan Valley, located along Highway 97 between Okanagan Falls and Oliver. Known for its calm, glassy waters, Vaseux Lake is an ideal setting for learning and building confidence on a paddleboard.
