SUMMARY:Driscoll Ridge - Monday Feb 7th
DESCRIPTION:Back to the land of Ancient Cedar Forests and breathtaking summit views! Join Meg for a Monday snowshoe up to Driscoll Ridge. Driscoll Ridge is located just over an hour East of Prince George. This snowshoe is just under 5km return and ascends 390 m of elevation. This adventure is a great option for anyone looking to take their snowshoeing from flat trails to something more adventurous!\nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, No challenging terrain but the climb is steady. \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the starbucks at 7am\, hitting the rd by 7:15am. It is a roughly a one hour drive to trail head. Goal is to be back in PG by around 4pm\, depending on trail condition\, group pace & how long wander & rest for. \n  \nWhat to bring-\n\nGear for all elements (gloves\, toque (for lunch break) & Dress in synthetic layers – warmth\, rain. heat\nSnowshoes\nBackpack & water\nLunch\nGaiters (strongly recommended)\nPoles (optional) but strongly recommended\nPad or backpacking chair to sit on\n\n\nEmail is sent out prior to all guests with confirmation of details & full gear list. SUMMARY:Winter Shelter Building Workshop - February 6th
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in trying new things\, learning new skills\, feeling more confident with Winter adventuring? Whether you spend time in the backcountry & are looking to feel more prepared in case of emergency or maybe your just looking to spend a day having fun & meeting like minded people\, this workshop is for you!\nThe day will include building a Quinzee (shelter made from compacted snow) fire building\, winter safety tips & off trail snowshoe. The Adventure Bus is co hosting this workshop with a local bushcraft expert and it will be an awesome day of skill building while also having lots of fun playing in a snow cave…let your inner child roam free!\n No experience necessary just the ability to actively participate in shelter building & snowshoeing! SUMMARY:Norman - Dahl Lake Snowshoe February 5th\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:Lets head West for this snowy off trail adventure. This snowshoe will start off at Norman Lake\, we will follow a path across the forest to the first bay of Dahl Lake. From there we will snowshoe along the lake to the peninsula at the end of the first portion of Dahl Lake. Depending on ice thickness we will have lunch & warm beverage there or we will venture our further and onto one of the the tiny islands.There is so much adventure to be had & it doesn’t always mean climbing the highest mountain! This adventure will take you through snow covered trees\, frozen lake travel & off trail adventure with minimal ascent.\nRated – Easy & adventurous \nMeeting at College heights parking lot in front of the Starbucks (grab your coffee for the drive) The trail head is about 1.5 hour west of Prince George. Leaving Prince George at 8:30am\, goal to hit the trail by 10am. Heading back to PG at 3:30pm at the latest. DESCRIPTION:We had sooo many requests last season to host an evening at the Caledonia Nordic Track so we knew we had to make this happen for Winter 2022. Personally I am a terrible cross-country skier\, but who better to fall down in front of then a wicked group of Adventure Crew humans!! Lets hit the tracks around 6:30pm and make our way along some green routes under the night sky. Our ski adventure will be followed by a fire and some refreshments to finish off the night. Join us for this FREE intro session as we cover some basics to Winter Safety. This will be lead by an AHG ACMG Hiking guide with Winter Accreditation. \n\nAvalanche gear\, training\, where to find courses\nWhere to find the avalanche ratings and how to read them\, plan your route & leave a trip plan\nWhats in our winter hiking packs (taking out all of our gear and giving you a list to take home)\nProper snowshoe & micro spikes use\n\n  \nThis will be put on at Shane Lake\, we will start with a presentation under the shelter and then head out to try out the gear and give some demonstrations. DESCRIPTION:We are heading to Sugarbowl – Grizzly Den Park for our first Viking Ridge adventure of the season! This climb starts off STEEP as it winds up through the Cedar & Hemlock forest. DESCRIPTION:Back to the Cariboo we go for an amazing fall hike!It will most likely be winter in the mountains around Wells\, so snowshoes are a must! Our Cariboo based hiking leader ember will be guiding the Yellowhawk Trail just outside of Wells B.C. This is a 7 km in and out trail which will take us about 500 metres in elevation\, adventure should take about 4-6 hours\, just depends on snow level. Transportation is not provided for this hike\, but we can help organize carpooling.\nActivity Level/Rating – moderate\, some elevation gain\, terrain is not challenging \nMeeting – Meeting out back the Jack O clubs Pub/gas station in Wells BC for 9am. Please make sure you look into how far of a drive it is from your home to Wells. DESCRIPTION:Spooky season is upon us & as Halloween is one of our favourite times of year we had to put on a haunted wander! Adults can have Halloween fun too so come out and take part in a moonlight wander. This is for ages 10 and up. Join us out at Goodsir Nature park for a wander around the trails followed by refreshments & treats around the fire! Come dressed warm as the evenings are chilly but make sure to throw a costume on over top\, prizes for best costume! Three dates to choose from October 19th. Oct 21st or 26th\, all events running from 6-8pm\, select during ticket purchase below. Partial proceeds from events will be donated to Goodsir Nature park. DESCRIPTION:Back to the Cariboo we go for an amazing fall hike! The weather is calling for sunshine and great temps so we couldn’t be more excited for this weekend! We will be guiding the Yellowhawk Trail just outside of Wells B.C. This is a 7 km in and out trail which will take us about 500 metres in elevation. After the hike we will be popping into the Jack of clubs for a post hike celebration\, beverage and dinner (dinner not included in price)\nActivity Level/Rating – moderate\, some elevation gain\, terrain is not challenging \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the starbucks between 6:15am – 6:30am\, hitting the rd by 6:30am. It is a roughly two hour drive to trail head. Goal is to be back in PG by around 7pm\, depending on trail condition\, group pace & how long we mingle at pub after. Please be aware that if you are riding in the van you must wear a mask while not eating or drinking. For the pub after you will need to show vaccine passport\, as per provincial health guidelines. SUMMARY:Troll Lake Cabin - Evening Hike - September 28th
DESCRIPTION:Our favourite little cabin in the woods. Adventure out with us to Tabor Mountain as we wander along a 3.5 km loop trail. This local gem is only 15 minutes East of town and has endless trails and cool spots to explore.\nRated- Easy/ if raining trail is very muddy\nMeeting at the gas station along HWY 16 East\, which is off to the RIGHT & just up past the jail. You can shuttle with us from there\, or follow. If you drive yourself you must have 4 wheel drive and good clearance with vehicle. Space in vehicle is limited so first 12 guests to register and request transportation will be able to ride out. Meeting between 5:15pm-5:30pm\, hitting the road by 5:30pm\, goal to hit the trail by just before 6pm. Please note these hikes run rain or shine. We will only postpone if conditions are unsafe.   Please be aware we will be following all current Covid guidelines. DESCRIPTION:We are heading North to the Pine Pass to tackle the Murray Range. We love Mt.Murray so much we wanted to also share how beautiful its neighbour is\, The Murray Range. We will climb over 900 m elevation in just over 3km as we hike along side an avalanche shoot making our way up to the alpine. Once in the meadows we can scramble further to North or South peak. We will have gorgeous views of Azouzeta Lake and the surrounding mountains\nActivity Level/Rating – Difficult\, we highly recommend you are a strong hiker prior to coming on this adventure. SUMMARY:Driscoll Ridge - Monday September 13th
DESCRIPTION:Back to the land of Ancient Cedar Forests and breathtaking summit views! Join Meg for a Monday day hike up to Driscoll Ridge. Driscoll Ridge is located just over an hour East of Prince George. This hike is just under 5km return and ascends 390 m of elevation.\nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, No challenging terrain but the climb is steady. \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the starbucks at 8:30am\, hitting the rd by 8:45am. It is a roughly a one hour drive to trail head. SUMMARY:Raven Lake Overnight - September 11th
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second Raven Lake overnight of the season! As we hike up we will follow a gradual switch back trail up through a beautiful old growth forest and break through into alpine meadow. From the alpine we will hike down to the lake and to our camp spot for the night. Once we are settled into the cabin or tents\, our legs are rested and we have some lunch we will head out for some more exploration. We have rented the beautiful new cabin for this adventure\, so you have the option to stay in cabin or tent it right outside.\n\nActivity Level/Rating – Great for all levels. Rated as moderate (the hike up with overnight pack will take roughly 2.5-3 hours) We will be hiking for another 1-2 hours after camp set up (optional) \nThis is for you if you are new to backpacking and are looking for a great start to your season or journey into backpacking. SUMMARY:Buckhorn Lake Sunset Paddle - September 7th
DESCRIPTION:Buckhorn Lake is one of our favourite paddles and super close to town! We will circle the shores of the lake and finish by paddling down a short off short of the lake which backs onto a nearby farm\, beautiful!\nEvery paddle will be a guided route with a certified Stand up Paddling instructor. These adventures will run RAIN or SHINE. We will only postpone due to high winds or lighting.  \nEmail will be sent out prior to each paddle with specific directions (we will meet at lake) gear requirements\, waivers etc. We have two Kayaks & three paddle boards for rent. These will go first come first serve. \n  \nCOST – $20  per guided paddle\, $15 for rental (includes board/kayak & PFD)  \n  \nSeptember 7th- Buckhorn Lake 6pm start. Buckhorn Lake is South of PG.

DESCRIPTION:Its time to head back to Fang for a day hike! This will be one of our most challenging trips as there is difficult terrain and steep parts to climb. We will take our time and make sure everyone feels confident making their way through the boulder fields and up the steep pitch to the first cave. Once in the meadows we will rest\, take in the views and then make our way to the summit!\n  \nActivity Level/Rating – Difficult\, we highly recommend you are a strong hiker prior to coming on this adventure. This is a 15 km in and out trail with 1100 m elevation \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the starbucks between 6:15am – 6:30am\, hitting the rd by 6:30am. It is a roughly two hour drive to trail head. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our third of our three FREE events! These events are in collaboration with Back Forty Lifestyle Co. Everyone that takes part in one of the free events will be entered into winning one of their custom paddler hoodies or mountains and woods hoodie along with Happy Yak backpacking meals!\nOur goal is to encourage everyone to come out. Find adventure\, community\, make new friends & have a great time in a welcoming and supportive environment! \nDomano Loop is one of our favourite easy wanders within PG! This is a 4.7km loop trail that starts off along a dirt rd which cuts into a beautiful path lined with poplar trees. We hike down to the Fraser River and continue along the side before making our way back up to the rd. This is a great hike for all levels\, everyone welcome! \nMeeting – 5:45pm – 6pm\, hitting the trail by 6pm \nLocation – Meeting spot is at the end Domano rd (Domano & malaspina) in lower College Heights. SUMMARY:Nechako Ridge Hike - August 12th
DESCRIPTION:We are heading back to one of our favourite in town adventures! This hike starts STEEP\, but its worth it we promise! After a five minute scramble we spend the rest of the hike walking the ridgeline before our stopping point\, above the Nechako river.\nRated – moderate \nLength – 3 km loop “trail \nMeeting between 5:45pm-6pm\, hitting the trail by 6pm\, meeting at the end of north Nechako. if heading north up foothills you would turn LEFT onto north nechako\, drive until the pavement turns into gravel\, you will see the bus! : ) \nPlease note these hikes run rain or shine. We will only postpone if conditions are unsafe.   Please be aware we will be following all current Covid guidelines.
