Jaylene is a local Kinesiologist & Yoga Teacher. Jaylene combines her expertise of human movement with the ancient wisdom of yoga and meditation to support others in finding ease and steadiness with all aspects of life. Meghan is an ACMG Hiking Guide and will be guiding the hiking and feeding everyone throughout the weekend. The weekend will be spent up at Raven Lake. \nThe Raven Lake trail is situated within the Sugarbowl – Grizzly Den Provincial Park. This backcountry gem is only a two hour drive from Prince George yet it is wild\, rugged and full of adventure. The hike in is 5 km with roughly a 500 metre gain in elevation. The start of km 4 means the climb is complete and you break through the trees into a stunning alpine meadow. It’s only 1 km left to make your way down to the camp site\, that is nestled beside Raven Lake. \nThe weekend will be filled with guided Yoga practices\, meditation\, breath work\, movement & nourishing meals. This gorgeous alpine setting is the perfect place to reconnect with yourself\, nature & with community found in group practice.\nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, we recommend you have completed some hikes with roughly the same distance and elevation prior to coming on this adventure. DESCRIPTION:Our THIRD annual ladies only backpacking trip!\nDo you love being out in nature & front county camping but are looking for something a little more challenging & adventerous? Do you have a passion for hiking and you want to take that farther? How about combining the two? If this sounds like you\, then backcountry camping should definitely be on your to do list for 2023!\nThis summer prepare to embark on a backpacking journey through the remote wilderness\, climb mountains with your life on your back\, meet new people\, explore rugged terrain and make unforgettable memories! \nThe Raven Lake trail is situated within the Sugarbowl – Grizzly Den Provincial Park. Once you are re fuelled\, rested & camp is set up you can then head out for  a short hike up to the ridge overlooking Raven Lake or relax at camp. This is a ladies only adventure. \nWe will go over backcountry cooking\, camp set up\, animal awareness\, wilderness first aid\, play some card games and enjoy each others company atop a mountain. \nPre adventure meet up will be included and we will go over hiking tips\, how to pack\, food prep ect. \nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, we recommend you have completed some hikes with roughly the same distance and elevation prior to coming on this adventure. SUMMARY:Fang Mountain - July 19th 2023
DESCRIPTION:We are heading back to Evanoff Provincial Park to hike Fang Mountain! Lets go for a mid week stroll & have the entire mountain to ourselves!\nCome enjoy this wild Northern Mountain\, with brilliant terrain…alpine meadows\, lakes & boulder fields. This will be one of our most challenging trips as there is difficult terrain and steep parts to climb so rest assured your guides will be route finding & assisting you through every tricky moment of this ascent. This adventure is 12 km round trip\, gaining over 900 metres of elevation.\nDuring guided hikes your hiking guide sets the pace\, prompts scheduled breaks for snacks\, water & beauty appreciation moments. Your guide will also cover local history\, flora\, fauna\, animal habitats and go over animal awareness as well as hiking/route finding skills.\nMeeting – Meeting outside of Tim hortons on Massey Dr. (same parking lot as Princess Auto) between 6:45am – 7am\, hitting the rd by 7am. Drive to trailhead is around 2 hours. Goal is to be back in PG by around 6pm\, depending on trail condition\, group pace & how long we want enjoy the day for! From meeting point guests can carpool or follow out in their own vehicles. Carpool fee is $15 \nRated – Difficult.  Some very steep/rocky terrain and almost 1000 meters of elevation gain. We suggest you are a confident hiking a full day prior to attending this trip. DESCRIPTION:This two hour workshop will take you from “Ive never been on my board before ” to feeling calm and confident cruising through flat water. Even if you have had some time on your board this is a great way to improve upon your skills and learn how to make the most out of your paddling adventures!\nEvery workshop is lead by certified Stand Up Paddling Instructors & starts with a dry land portion. In this section the instructors will go over some SUP history\, board terminology\, safety\, launching\, and getting on and off the board. They also will cover paddling strokes\, proper stance and trip planning. The workshop is always finished with a short lake cruise to allow some time to play around & test out your new skills!\nWe will be launching at one of our favourite lakes\, Eena Lake. Eena Lake is a half hour North West of town.\nMeeting – Meeting at Eena lake around 5:30pm-   workshop starts at 6pm. These adventures run RAIN OR SHINE\, we will only postpone due to wind or lighting risks. \nWhat to pack –  \n\nClothes appropriate for the weather that day\, plus spares\nTowel\nWater\nSunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses (leave the expensive ones at home ; )\n\nWhats Included ? \n\nGuided paddle & skills instruction by certified SUP instructor\nPFD (if you don’t have your own)\n\n  \nCost per person is $60. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first trip this year up to Raven Lake!\nThis beautiful hike is a Prince George classic! In only 4 kms you are into the alpine with views all around. From the stunning alpine meadows we will make our way down to the cabin that is nestled in beside Raven Lake. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first big hike of the season. While the creek is still too high to take on Fang Mountain trail we will view the backside of Fang via the Torpy trail.\nCome enjoy this wild Northern BC Mountain\, with brilliant terrain…alpine meadows & alpine lakes. DESCRIPTION:This two hour workshop will take you from “Ive never been on my board before ” to feeling calm and confident cruising through flat water. Even if you have had some time on your board this is a great way to improve upon your skills and learn how to make the most out of your paddling adventures!\nEvery workshop is lead by certified Stand Up Paddling Instructors & starts with a dry land portion. In this section the instructors will go over some SUP history\, board terminology\, safety\, launching\, and getting on and off the board. They also will cover paddling strokes\, proper stance and trip planning. The workshop is always finished with a short lake cruise to allow some time to play around & test out your new skills!\nWe will be launching at one of our favourite lakes\, Eena Lake. Eena Lake is a half hour North West of town.\nMeeting – Meeting at Eena lake around 5:30pm-   workshop starts at 6pm. These adventures run RAIN OR SHINE\, we will only postpone due to wind or lighting risks. \nWhat to pack –  \n\nClothes appropriate for the weather that day\, plus spares\nTowel\nWater\nSunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses (leave the expensive ones at home ; )\n\nWhats Included ? \n\nGuided paddle & skills instruction by certified SUP instructor\nPFD (if you don’t have your own)\n\n  \nCost per person is $60. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an intro to outdoor skills workshop. These courses will mainly be run as custom/private events so this is your chance to jump into a scheduled workshop. These sessions are for everyone! Feeling safe\, having fun\, learning new things\, you don’t need to be a survivalist to want to gain some sweet new outdoors skills! From backcountry camping\, hunting\, survival\, recreational outings…..there is something for everyone to gain from attending these workshops.\nThis specific workshop will focus on two components –  \n\nFire building. This portion includes a walk to our site in which we will talk about natural tinder options\, different tree species\, gathering techies etc. Once we get to the fire making location we will go over proper site selection\, how to build a fire & how to use a fire steel & flint. Everyone will get hands on with collecting their fire building components\, building the fire and using a flint.\nBear awareness. Since it is the time of year when bears are waking up we thought this would be a useful addition to this workshop. We will go over looking for bear signs\, bear behaviour\, how to say safe in the backcountry & everyone will get to practice deploying a bear spray.\n\nThis workshop be be roughly three hours in length & located within Prince George. Exact location and gear list will be emailed to everyone attending. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Winter Forgaing Workshop - February 25th
DESCRIPTION:Foraged in Winter: Forest Medicines\, Teas and Treats \nWinter is not over yet! \nCome out for an afternoon snowshoe and learn about our local plants that can be gathered in winter to make medicines\, teas\, and treats. Try some conifer needle teas that are high in Vitamin C and cookies that are infused with the flavor of the forest! \nYou will have a chance to gather some tree parts and other herbs to bring home for your pantry and medicine cabinet. You will be provided with How-To’s\, recipes\, and other information to help identify local wild plants/trees\, their benefits\, and how to process them into medicines\, teas and treats. \nThis will be a 6 km round trip hike on an old logging road. Only a 15 minute drive from downtown Prince George! As we will be stepping off the road from time to time\, it would be ideal to wear snowshoes. \nThis workshop will be weather dependent. SUMMARY:Murray Cabin Snowshoe - January 28th\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Murray/Yellowhawk trail has to be one of our favourite summer hiking destinations and so not surprisingly the winter route is one of our most loved snowshoes. This adventure will take you to the Cariboos\, just outside of Wells\, BC. This snowshoe starts off with a short but steep incline followed by a more relaxed\, gradual climb. This trail has lots of flat breaks through meadows & beautiful scenery all around. The goal for the day is to reach the saddle that holds the tiny backcountry cabin\, Murray Cabin. We will stoke the fire at the cabin\, have lunch\, warm beverages and relax before our journey back to the trail head. This adventure is roughly 9km total\, along an in & out trail\, gaining 390 metres of elevation.\nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, some challenging snowshoe terrain which you will be guided through\, lots of flat sections and short steep sections. Will be a longer day so experience snowshoeing through deep powder is recommended. \nMeeting – Meeting at Parkwood mall out front the second cup at 6:30am\, hitting the road by 6:45am. We will be carpooling from this location. carpool fee to be given to driver is $20 per guest.  It is roughly a two hour drive to trail head. DESCRIPTION:Tis the season for snowy wanders\, good humans and Christmas cheer. Join us for this small group\, snowshoe based adventure located in Wells\, BC. This trip includes a guided snowshoe\, crafting with cedar boughs & dinner in a snow globe!\nActivity Level/Rating – Easy/Moderate\, No challenging terrain but the climb is steady and may be off trail for parts \nItinerary – \nWe will leave Prince George around 8am and make the trip to Wells\, BC which is just over a two hour drive. Once there we will be heading straight to our snowshoe to stretch our legs and take in some fresh mountain air. Pack a warm and filling lunch\, we will be enjoying a break and lunch mid snowshoe. The snowshoe is rated easy/moderate with lots of flat terrain and some gradual incline\, it will be roughly 4 kms and take 1.5-2 hours. \nAfter our snowshoe & lunch among the snowy forest pillows we will head back into Wells to the Frog on the Bog for some Cedar bough crafting. You could also get some Christmas shopping done while visiting this unique local shop : ) \nThe day will finish with a final visit at 4pm to The Jack O Clubs Pub. Once there we will enjoy a delicious dinner inside of their snow-globe! \nBellies full and legs tired its time to say goodbye and make our journeys back to Prince George. \n  \nMeeting – Meeting at Parkwood Mall out front the Second Cup at 7:45am\, hitting the rd by 8:00am. It is a roughly a two hour drive to trail head. DESCRIPTION:Its time to get ready for an amazing Winter season! Do you snowshoe up Driscoll Ridge\, Viking Ridge…Sugarbowl? Then this course is for you!\nAST 1 – Do you venture out of bounds\, off the trail or into the backcountry? An AST1 is the place to start. With an AST1 you will learn how to recognize avalanche terrain and how to companion rescue. Day 1 of course is classroom based and day 2 will be field based within the Prince George area.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat you will learn: \n\n\nAvalanche formation and release. \n\n\nHow to identify avalanche terrain. \n\n\nThe basics of trip planning. \n\n\nOptimal use of tools and resources like the avalanche forecasts to mitigate your avalanche risk. \n\n\nUsing appropriate travel techniques in avalanche terrain. \n\n\nIntro to companion rescue. \n\n\n\nYour instructor for this course is Dave McAleney and his company is Highmark Avalanche Safety.\nDave McAleney grew up in the mountains of the North Rockies\, and has a passion for sharing the wilderness with people and helping them explore safely and responsibly. A winter recreation enthusiast for most of his life\, he volunteers with Search and Rescue on the Avalanche Team\, and has worked with Avalanche Canada’s North Rockies Field Team\, as well as other private and volunteer groups as an avalanche tech and educator. Dave sleds well\, skis poorly\, and climbs with enthusiasm. Highmark Avalanche Safety was born from a need for local\, professional education services based in the North for Northern people. With the increasing popularity of snowmobiling as well as all types of winter recreation in the mountains\, the demand for courses and instruction grew also. Highmark has grown out of that demand for education and helps people go harder\, do more\, and be safer in the mountains. \n\n\n\nFor the course it is recommended that you have your own snowshoes\, poles and avalanche gear. if you do not have your own avalanche gear there will be 4 rental sets as well as a gear info night and best sets to purchase locally. This course is great for all levels. \nCourse fee minus transactions fees are refundable up until November 15th at which time the course is non refundable. Full payment required at time of purchase. DESCRIPTION:We are heading North to the Pine Pass to tackle the Murray Range. We love Mt.Murray so much we wanted to also share how beautiful its neighbour is\, The Murray Range. We will climb over 700 m elevation in just under 3km as we hike along side an avalanche shoot making our way up to the alpine. Once in the meadows we can scramble further to North or South peak. We will have gorgeous views of Azouzeta Lake and the surrounding mountains. A stop of the Azouzeta cafe after for the WOLRDS BEST DONUTS\, is a must!\nActivity Level/Rating – Difficult\, we  recommend you are a confident hiker prior to coming on this adventure\, however your guide will be able to assist. This hike climbs steeply in elevation within a few kms. This can be technical with footing coming down. Your guide will be leading with route finding and assisting with making steps when required.  \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the shoppers drug mart between 6:15am – 6:30am\, hitting the rd by 6:30am. It is a roughly two hour drive to trail head. DESCRIPTION:We will be heading to the Sugarbowl – Grizzly Den Provincial Park for this wicked adventure. This hike starts along the Grizzly Den trail…the start is a easy and gentle climb as we begin our ascent. From this trail we will cut off onto the Leprechaun Trail and up to Patts Pass. Once atop Patts Pass we will enjoy our lunch and take in the views. This is one of our favourite saddles as the terrain is extraordinary and we will take some time to explore up top. The start of km 4 means the climb is complete and you break through the trees into a stunning alpine meadow. It’s only 1 km left to make your way down to the camp site\, that is nestled beside Raven Lake. Once you are re fuelled\, rested & camp is set up you can then head out for  a short hike up to the ridge overlooking Raven Lake or relax at camp. DESCRIPTION:Back to the Cariboo we go for another amazing mid August hike! Our Cariboo based hiking guide Ember will be guiding the Murray/Yellowhawk Trail just outside of Wells B.C. This is a 7 km in and out trail which will take you about 500 metres in elevation. This hike will take you along the beautiful jubilee connector and up to the Summit of Yellowhawk. Once camp is set up you will enjoy some delicious appetizers and refresments followed by a hike up to the summit. The next day your guides will take you on an off trail adventure exploring the nearby range and adventuring to places no hiker has been before!\nCome enjoy this wild Northern mountain\, with two nights spent beside the meadows\, overlooking an alpine lake. This will be one of our most challenging trips as there is difficult terrain and steep parts to climb so rest assured your guides will be route finding & assisting you through every tricky moment of this ascent. Please email to be put on the waitlist.\n\nWe are already counting down the days until this wicked adventure!\nLet us take you on a weekend of paddling\, camping\, hiking\, good food and wicked people! Valemount is situated in a valley right in the heart of three major mountain ranges; the Cariboo\, Columbia and Rocky Mountains. This place is breathtaking with views in every direction and we will see it from land & lake! For the weekend we will be camping together just outside of Valemount\, so get your tent and sleeping bag ready. There is nothing like a cold shower and a beer around a campfire after a long day of hiking.\nFriday evening we will be paddling Kinbasket Lake\, our paddle boards will be set up and ready to go by the our friends at White Cap Water Sports. After our evening paddle its back to camp for a buffet of delicious fire side grub! Time to fuel up for the EPIC hike in the morning.\nSaturday starts with breakfast\, packing up lunch\, gear check and we are off to the real star of this weekend…the true backcountry hike. We can’t even tell you the name as this hike is a lesser know\, off trail hike and we want to keep it as secret as possible. So what can we tell you? This is a truly wild and amazing adventure…rated as moderate this hike will take us roughly 10km there and back and climb over 700 metres in elevation..to some of the most stunning and jaw dropping views! Trust us\, you don’t want to miss this one.\nWhats Included? \n\nGuided Paddling & paddle board rental\nGuided Hike with an ACMG apprentice Hiking Guide\nAll meals (breakfast & dinner fully prepared) lunch will be laid out for you to pack for your hike\nCampsite for two nights\nAdventure Gift\n\n  \nWe can assist with organizing with car-pooling closer to date. SUMMARY:The Vineyards - July 24th
DESCRIPTION:Join guides James & Rob for a stunning & remote adventure. Our guided tours are small groups\, casual pace\, have teaching moments\, lots of photo breaks and aways a great crew of people!\nAlpine meadows and gorgeous views. Thats the goal with The Vineyards Hike. This is still a fairly unused trail & beautiful hike up into breathtaking alpine meadow\, the flowers should still be in full bloom during July!\nRated – Moderate. This hike is roughly a 13 km in and out trail\, steeper ascent through the forested portion and then gradual climb to the highest peak \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the shoppers drug mart between 6:14am – 6:30am\, hitting the rd by 6:30am. SUMMARY:Raven Lake - July 17th
DESCRIPTION:Join guides James & Kayla for our first trip of the season\, due to snowpack and water levels we have changed this hike to Raven Lake.\nThis beautiful hike is a Prince George classic! In only 5 kms you are into the alpine with views all around.  This wander starts off gradual up through the forest\, through the alpine meadow and down to the cabin where we will relax in the sunshine and have lunch & rest!\nRated – Moderate ~ this is a 10 km in and out trail. The trail may be muddy with rotten snow in may sections. \n  \nMeeting – Meeting at spruce land mall out front the shopper drug mart between 6:45am – 7am\, hitting the rd by 7am. It is a roughly two hour drive to trail head. This beast of a mountain will take you on a 9 klm hike\, gaining around 650 metres elevation\, and yes there will be views for miles at the top! Want to explore around Wells after\, stop in at Barkerville? Just ask Ember and she will have plenty of suggestions on how to make the most out of your trip to the historic community!\nRated – Moderate.  \nMeeting – Meeting Ember behind the Jack O Clubs Pub in Wells\, BC and you will follow her to the trailhead from there. Meeting at 9:30am.
