After three trips to Icefall this past summer\, here are a few things we want you to know so you can arrive prepared and ready to enjoy the experience. \nSleep & Cabin Life\nThe first and last cabins have small sleeping quarters with squeaky beds. Space is limited\, and sleeping conditions are rustic. If you’re a particularly loud snorer\, shared sleeping quarters may be challenging for you and your cabin mates! Regardless\, come prepared for a less-than-perfect night’s sleep. An eye mask and earplugs are must-haves. The good news? The excitement of the hikes ahead usually makes any tiredness fade pretty quickly! \nTerrain & Exposure\nThe terrain is rugged\, and some sections require confidence and good mobility. Even on our shorter first-day hike\, there is a section of rock where you’ll need to use your hands to climb up and over. There is exposure and inherent risk\, so you must be comfortable with heights and navigating uneven\, exposed terrain. \nDay Two: A Big\, Rewarding Day\nDay two is a big hiking day\, but the route is very manageable for those who arrive with the right preparation and abilities. We gain approximately 600 metres over 4 km as we climb toward the pass\, where we’ll stop for lunch. Expect a substantial section of large boulders along the way. You must be comfortable moving across rocks\, maintaining your balance\, and trusting your foot placement. \nAfter the pass\, the final 4 km to the cabin are generally easier going\, with a few narrower sections to navigate. We’ll also travel along the tops of moraines\, which are narrow\, elevated ridges with steep drop-offs on either side. \nDay Three: Another big hike day with two moraines to walk along\, some steep and very narrow switch backs to climb up and the most rewarding views. We will hike roughly 9km total and gain 550 metres of elevation this day. Sauna and appies await our return. But please note\, you will be tired after two days of hiking so this is why it is so important to come prepared and injury free. \nFitness & Mobility Requirements\nOverall\, this trip is very achievable for prepared hikers\, but it is important to arrive with: \n\nGood hiking fitness and the ability to manage long\, challenging days on your feet.\nVery good mobility\, balance\, and stability to move up\, down\, and across uneven rocky terrain.\nConfidence navigating boulders\, narrow trails\, and exposed sections.\nComfort with heights and an understanding that backcountry travel involves inherent risks.\nOur goal is for everyone to have an incredible experience while feeling prepared for the terrain ahead. Please read these notes carefully and reach out before booking if you’re unsure whether this trip is the right fit for you. We’d much rather have that conversation ahead of time so you can arrive feeling confident\, capable\, and ready for an unforgettable adventure. \nPricing & Deposit Information \nPlease note that our trip pricing reflects the rates charged by Icefall Lodge. Their prices have increased this year\, which is why the overall cost of the trip is higher than in previous years. We simply pass along Icefall’s rates and do not add a markup to their accommodation costs. \nA $800 deposit is required at the time of booking. This is the deposit required by Icefall Lodge to secure your spot\, so we must collect it to confirm your reservation.\n\n  \nHOW TO BOOK – Please send us an email with any questions\, after we confirm you would like to book\, a deposit of $800 is required to hold your spot. This can be paid via transfer or credit card. Please let us know if you need a one month payment plan for deposit.\n\n \n  \n

SUMMARY:A Little Wild: Wells Fall Adventure Weekend - October 15th - 17th\, 2027
DESCRIPTION:Come wander with us. \nTucked into the mountains of the Cariboo\, Wells is a place that invites you to get a little lost\, look a little closer\, and let your curiosity lead the way. In the fall\, the landscape feels especially magical — crisp mountain air\, golden colours\, quiet forests\, and a thousand little things waiting to be discovered and maybe even a first snow fall. \nThis is a weekend for wandering off the beaten path\, exploring places you might never find on your own\, learning to read the landscape\, and finding a little whimsy in the wild. \nFriday Evening: A Little Glow in the Woods\nWe’ll kick off our weekend with something a little out of the ordinary: a nighttime fungi glow wander. \nAs darkness settles over Wells\, we’ll head into the woods with our foraging guide to discover the fascinating world of fungi by glowing light. It’s a chance to slow down\, look closer\, and experience the forest in a completely different way — where the familiar becomes strange\, the tiny things become extraordinary\, and curiosity leads the way. \nThis is a special experience led by our visiting foraging guide\, travelling all the way from Vancouver to share their knowledge and help bring this weekend to life. \nThink curious discoveries\, forest magic\, and a little after-dark wonder. What better way to begin a weekend devoted to exploring the wilder side of Wells? \nThe forest has a different kind of magic after dark. \nOn Saturday\, we’ll spend a full day exploring the mountains and hidden corners around Wells on a guided off-trail adventure. No rushing from one viewpoint to the next — just a full day to roam\, discover\, and see where the landscape takes us. \nOn Sunday\, we’ll follow the river and wind our way into the woods for a foraging adventure. We’ll learn about the landscape and its seasonal offerings before gathering for some unique eats in the forest — a little wild\, a little unexpected\, and a delicious way to experience the place around us. \nIn between adventures\, there will be time to settle in\, warm up in the sauna\, share stories\, meet new people\, and enjoy the simple magic of a weekend spent outdoors. \nCome for the mountains.
