DESCRIPTION:Golden larches\, crisp mountain air\, alpine lakes\, rugged peaks\, cozy camp vibes\, and some of the most breathtaking hiking in British Columbia await on this unforgettable fall adventure.\nJoin us for 3 incredible days of camping & exploring in the spectacular alpine landscape of Cathedral Provincial Park during one of the most magical times of year. Late September brings the annual transformation of the park’s iconic alpine larches\, turning entire mountainsides brilliant shades of gold against a backdrop of granite peaks and turquoise lakes.\nOne of the best parts of this adventure is that we won’t be carrying heavy overnight packs for long distances. We’ll take the Cathedral Lakes Lodge shuttle from the trailhead directly into the alpine\, allowing us to establish a comfortable basecamp and spend our time exploring the area on rewarding day hikes with lighter packs.\nCathedral Provincial Park is renowned for its dramatic mountain scenery\, pristine lakes\, unique alpine ecosystems\, and incredible hiking opportunities. From sweeping ridgelines to hidden tarns and panoramic viewpoints\, every day offers something spectacular.\nThis trip is perfect for adventurous women wanting an authentic backcountry experience without the challenge of a long backpacking approach carrying a full overnight load. Since our overnight gear is transported by shuttle\, you can enjoy the backcountry experience without worrying about carrying a heavy pack for long distances. That means you can pack a few extra comforts for camp. Bring the nice camera\, that book you’ve been meaning to read\, cozy camp shoes\, and plenty of layers for crisp alpine evenings beneath the stars.\nAnd of course\, we’ll be eating well. Expect delicious\, hearty meals designed to fuel big hiking days. No dehydrated backcountry meals here—think fresh ingredients\, satisfying dinners\, tasty breakfasts\, and plenty of snacks to keep us energized as we explore Cathedral’s spectacular alpine landscape.\nTrip Highlights\n• Experience Cathedral Provincial Park during peak larch season\n• Shuttle access into the alpine to minimize heavy pack carrying\n• Two and a half full days of hiking from an established alpine basecamp\n• Stunning mountain scenery\, alpine lakes\, and golden larches\n• Small group experience with experienced guide\n• Delicious meals\, trail snacks\, and cozy camp evenings \nHiking Level\nModerate to Challenging \nThis adventure is designed for confident hikers with previous hiking or backpacking experience. \nWhile we avoid a long backpacking approach by taking the shuttle into the alpine\, our two full hiking days are substantial and rewarding. Participants should expect hikes of up to 15 km per day over uneven mountain terrain\, including substantial elevation gain\, rocky sections\, and alpine travel. \nYou should feel comfortable hiking for a full day in the mountains while carrying a light day pack and be confident completing hikes of this length and difficulty. A good level of fitness and a sense of adventure will help you make the most of this incredible experience. \nDates\nSeptember 24–27\, 2026 \nShuttle Schedule\n\nThursday\, September 24: Shuttle departs Base Camp at 10:00 AM\nSunday\, September 27: Shuttle departs the alpine at 9:00 AM\n\nThese times allow participants to travel home on Sunday following the trip. \nIncluded\n\nCathedral Lakes Lodge shuttle transportation into and out of the alpine (non-refundable due to lodge policy)\nGuided hiking with an ACMG Hiking Guide\nWilderness First Responder certified leadership\nTwo and a half days of guided hiking\nAll meals from lunch on Thursday through breakfast on Sunday\nTrail snacks\nGroup cooking equipment\nWater filtration system\nPre-trip information package and packing support\nBackcountry camping fee\n\nNot Included\n\nTransportation to and from Cathedral Lakes Lodge Base Camp\nAccommodation before or after the trip\nPersonal hiking and camping gear\nAlcoholic beverages\nTravel insurance\n\nrental gear available upon request. \nGetting to the Shuttle Pick-Up\nArriving by Car\nLook for the Cathedral Lakes Lodge sign and turn off Highway 3 approximately 4.8 km (3 miles) west of Keremeos. Cross the red covered bridge and follow the scenic Ashnola River Road for 20.8 km (13 miles) to Base Camp. \nFrom the highway turnoff\, allow approximately 30 minutes to reach Base Camp. \nArriving by Air\nThe Penticton Airport is the closest airport to Keremeos. Airport pick-up from Penticton may be available if schedules align with our departure time. Please contact us to discuss options. There are many hotel options in Penticton if you need to arrive the night before. \nWhat to Bring\nA detailed packing list will be provided closer to departure. Participants should expect to bring: \n\nBackpack suitable for a multi-day camping trip\nTent\nSleeping bag and sleeping pad\nHiking boots or sturdy trail shoes\nWarm layers including hat and gloves\, toque\nRain gear\nDaypack for hiking from camp\nPersonal toiletries and medications\nHeadlamp\nWater bottles or hydration reservoir\nTrekking poles (recommended)\n\nCost\n$649 + GST \nTotal: $681.45 \nDeposit & Payment\nA $200 deposit is required to secure your spot. \nDeposits can be sent via e-transfer to guidedbyadventurepg@gmail.com\, or you may purchase a ticket through the website and email us to request an invoice. \nInvoices will be sent to all participants and can be paid by credit card or e-transfer. \nFinal payment due August 24th. SUMMARY:Witches and Wild Places - October 24th - Penticton
DESCRIPTION:Witches & Wild Places  🎃\nSaturday\, October 24 | Divide Lake + Chute Lake Lodge \nJoin Guided By Adventure for a roughly 5-hour guided day hike to Divide Lake\, taking in the fall colours\, mountain scenery and all the good things that come with getting outside in October. After the hike\, we’ll head to Chute Lake Lodge to warm up\, relax and enjoy a drink and shared appies with the group. \nThis is a moderate hike\, and participants should have a good level of hiking fitness and be comfortable completing approximately 5 hours of hiking over varied mountain terrain. This hike is along an in and out trail – 10.5 km total gaining 560 metres of elevation. \nA Little Halloween Magic 🎃\nThis isn’t a traditional Halloween event — we’re just using Halloween as an excuse to find a little magic\, be a little silly and have some fun. \nWe’ll hike\, take in the fall scenery\, and then head to Chute Lake Lodge where you can throw on a costume or Halloween accessory\, enjoy some Halloween tunes\, share some appies and have a drink with the group. \nCostumes are absolutely not mandatory. Weirdness is strongly encouraged. \nThink less Halloween party and more fall adventure with a little spooky-season mischief thrown in. \nWhat’s included\n\nGuided Divide Lake hike\nExperienced Hiking Guide (logistics\, wilderness first aid)\nSmall Group adventure (max 8 guests)\nPermits & insurance to operate in the park\nOne drink at Chute Lake Lodge\nShared appies\nA fun\, social mountain adventure\nHalloween fun\n\nMeeting & Transportation\nWe’ll meet at the Canadian Tire parking lot off the highway in Penticton and organize carpools to the trailhead. Meeting at 8am and leaving by 8:15am\, plan to finish hike and be back at cars around 3pm and then drive up to Chute Lake. Plan to head home around 5pm\, drive will take roughly an hour back to Penticton. \nThere is no shuttle for this trip\, so participants will need to be comfortable driving themselves or arranging a carpool with another participant. The drive to trailhead is around 40 mins. the drive up to Chute Lake after is about 15 minutes past trailhead. \nWhat to Bring\n\nHiking boots or sturdy hiking shoes\nDaypack\n1-2 litres of water\nLunch and snacks\nWarm layers\nWaterproof/windproof jacket\nWarm hat and gloves\nHeadlamp\nPersonal first aid supplies\nTrekking poles if you use them\nBear spray if you have it\nAny other personal gear you need to stay comfortable outdoors\n\nWeather & Route Changes\nOctober mountain weather can change quickly. Be prepared for winter weather conditions\, including cold temperatures\, rain\, snow\, wind and potentially slippery or snowy trails. \nFor safety\, the hike location or route may be changed due to weather or trail conditions. If a change is necessary\, we will do our best to provide an alternative adventure of a similar nature. \nNo refunds will be given in the event of a location or route change due to weather or trail conditions. \nA headlamp is required in your pack\, even if we expect to finish the hike during daylight hours. \nAfter the hike\, we’ll make our way to Chute Lake Lodge for drinks and appies before heading back to Penticton. \nCome for the hike. Stay for the weirdness. \n  \nCOST $72 plus gst = $75.60 per ticket. Please register by selecting ticket below. DESCRIPTION:Newfoundland: Wild Coast Adventure\nSeptember 11 –18\, 2027\nOkay… this one has been a long time coming. 🌊🥾 \nWe’re heading ALL the way east for 7 days of hiking\, exploring\, eating\, drinking and generally soaking up everything Newfoundland has to offer. \nThis will be a small-group Guided By Adventure trip\, with only 6–7 guests joining Meg + Kate. We’ll spend time exploring Gros Morne National Park\, the Bonavista Peninsula and St. John’s\, with plenty of hiking and exploring along the way. \nThink dramatic coastlines\, mountains\, tiny fishing communities\, colourful towns\, waterfalls\, boat trips\, local breweries\, seafood\, big Newfoundland landscapes and hopefully a little bit of moody Atlantic weather thrown in for good measure. 😉 \nWe’re intentionally keeping this trip small so it feels more like a group of friends heading on an adventure than a big organized tour.
