Once camp is set up you will enjoy some delicious appetizers and refreshments. Learn about campsite selection\, setting up a camp kitchen and settle into that post hike bliss. The next day your guides will take you on an off trail adventure exploring the nearby ranges\, enjoy some down time and climb to Fang summit after dinner.\nCome enjoy this wild Northern mountain\, with two nights spent beside the meadows\, overlooking an alpine lake. This will be one of our most challenging trips as there is difficult terrain and steep parts to climb so rest assured your guides will be route finding & assisting you through every tricky moment of this ascent. This hike takes us through cedar forest\, boulder fields\, steep mountainside trecking and past two cave systems.The wildlife is all around\, you’ll hear marmots echoing behind mossy boulders\, many types of birds and perhaps even see the grizzly that roams Fang Mountain.The first day our hike to camp is 5 km and we will climb almost 1000 metres of elevation. We will cover around 6-8 km on our off trail hiking day\, before retiring to camp for our second night.\nYou get to show up & enjoy your adventure vacation as we take care of all the details from safety\, camp arrangement\, camp kitchen set up\, transportation & guiding. Meghan is an ACMG Hiking Guide and will be guiding the hiking and feeding everyone throughout the weekend. The weekend will be spent up at Raven Lake. \nThe Raven Lake trail is situated within the Sugarbowl – Grizzly Den Provincial Park. This backcountry gem is only a two hour drive from Prince George yet it is wild\, rugged and full of adventure. The hike in is 5 km with roughly a 500 metre gain in elevation. The start of km 4 means the climb is complete and you break through the trees into a stunning alpine meadow. It’s only 1 km left to make your way down to the camp site\, that is nestled beside Raven Lake. \nThe weekend will be filled with guided Yoga practices\, meditation\, breath work\, movement & nourishing meals. This gorgeous alpine setting is the perfect place to reconnect with yourself\, nature & with community found in group practice.\nActivity Level/Rating – Moderate\, we recommend you have completed some hikes with roughly the same distance and elevation prior to coming on this adventure. If this sounds like your perfect set-up\, then backcountry camping should definitely be on your to do list for 2022!\nThis summer prepare to embark on a backpacking journey through the remote wilderness\, climb mountains with your life on your back\, meet new people\, explore the wild Cariboo region and make unforgettable memories! If your looking for a backpacking trip with beautiful views\, rugged terrain and some less traveled places to explore\, then this is for you!\nThis trip will take us over 20 kms throughout the three hiking days and climb over 700 metres of elevation. Night one we will be setting up camp down near Murray Cabin\, nestled in-between Mount Greenery & Murray Ridge.\nDay two we will pack up and head back onto the Yellowhawk Trail and summit Mount Murray. Camp will be set up near by an alpine lake atop Mount Murray\, once camp is set up its time to explore the near by ridges and take in views of the Bowron Lake circuit and beyond. Day three we hike out\, tired legs and happy hearts. We will head into the historic town of Wells for one last night together. Valemount is situated in a valley right in the heart of three major mountain ranges; the Cariboo\, Columbia and Rocky Mountains. This place is breathtaking with views in every direction and we will see it from land & lake! For the weekend we will be camping together just outside of Valemount\, so get your tent and sleeping bag ready. There is nothing like a cold shower and a beer around a campfire after a long day of hiking.\nFriday evening we will be paddling Kinbasket Lake\, our paddle boards will be set up and ready to go by the our friends at White Cap Water Sports. After our evening paddle its back to camp for a buffet of delicious fire side grub! Time to fuel up for the EPIC hike in the morning.\nSaturday starts with breakfast\, packing up lunch\, gear check and we are off to the real star of this weekend…the true backcountry hike. We can’t even tell you the name as this hike is a lesser know\, off trail hike and we want to keep it as secret as possible. So what can we tell you? This is a truly wild and amazing adventure…rated as moderate this hike will take us roughly 10km there and back and climb over 700 metres in elevation..to some of the most stunning and jaw dropping views! Wander the grounds while dinner is prepared\, grab some sangria and head up to the sauna overlooking the mountain ranges across from camp. \nJune 11th – Get your sea legs ready\, its time to sail the great Pacific Ocean with captain Pete. The seas are turquoise\, the company is outstanding and the hot springs are oh so magical. This is a full day of adventure perfection! We will pick you up at the dock and whisk you back to camp for another home cooked meal and an evening of hang out time with your adventure crew. \nJune 12th – Its time to stretch our legs and take in some stunning scenery before the long drive home Monday. This will be a slow morning\, staring with a gourmet breakfast & mimosas. After breakfast its time to pack the hiking snacks and head out! We will be doing the Burnt Bridge Loop\, which is a 4.5 km loop trail. This hike will start of with a gradual incline eventually leading us to a suspension bridge crossing over a creek and then the trail will wind us down through a wise old cedar forest. \nJune 13th – Our day to head home has arrived. Head down to the cook house for your breakfast and pack some lunch for the road. SUMMARY:Farwell Canyon - April 30th\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:We are heading a few hours South to escape the cold & head to the desert. Join us as we head to Williams Lake to hike Farwell Canyon. This place is unlike any landscape we have around Prince George. We will head out for a gourd wander up upon the sand dunes while we have our lunch! This is a 6.3 km trail rated as easy/moderate. Most of the trail is flat with only a few sections of steep terrain to climb. After our lunch we will head back to van and take everyone down to the homestead for some more exploration before we make our way back to Williams Lake. Once back its time to relax and refresh at our hotel before we head down to Fox Mountain Brewing for our dinner & drinks out on their patio over looking Williams Lake.\nItinerary – \nMake your way down to Williams Lake early Saturday morning (if you are coming from Prince George you will want to hit the road around 6:30am) and we will all meet at the hotel. From hotel we will be providing transportation to hike. Meeting by 9am we will then leave hotel together Saturday morning and head to Farwell Canyon (approximately a one hour drive) Hike around the canyon\, have lunch\, check out homestead. Heading back to hotel around 4pm. Dinner & brews at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second Raven Lake overnight of the season! As we hike up we will follow a gradual switch back trail up through a beautiful old growth forest and break through into alpine meadow. From the alpine we will hike down to the lake and to our camp spot for the night. Once we are settled into the cabin or tents\, our legs are rested and we have some lunch we will head out for some more exploration. As we hike up we will follow a gradual switch back trail up through a beautiful old growth forest and break through into alpine meadow. From the alpine we will hike down to the lake and to our camp spot for the night. Once camp is set up\, our legs are rested and we have some lunch we will head out for some more exploration. We have rented the beautiful new cabin for this adventure\, so you have the option to stay in cabin or tent it right outside.\n\nActivity Level/Rating – Great for all levels. Rated as moderate (the hike up with overnight pack will take roughly 3.5 hours) We will be hiking for another 1-2 hours after camp set up (optional) \nThis is for you if you are new to backpacking and are looking for a great start to your season or journey into backpacking. If you are a seasoned back packer but looking to learn new routes & meet like-minded people. \n\nOption 1) You have gear\, food & are and are ready to adventure out with us!\n$95 person\n\n\nOption 2) Don’t have your full set up yet\, not sure about food choices…. let us take care of all that for you with our all-inclusive package.
